The Indigenous Education Framework connecting across K-12 classrooms with staff and students with Youth at the centre of the learning.
Bimi Akiiwan, Going with the Way of the Earth, Indigenous Education Partnerships connect across K-12 classrooms with staff and students through land-based, hands-on, experiential, and first-person learning. The name, Bimi Akiwaan, to represent the Indigenous Education partnerships and the learning done by the group connects going with the way of the earth, as the cycles of learning we engage in throughout the year follow the 13 Moons, learning from Creation, and engaging in iterative cycles of continued learning. This name was developed in partnership with Elders and Knowledge Carriers who are the active partners of Bimi Akiiwaan, Deb and Barrie Milliken, Cedric and Sandra Isaac, Neva Isaac Sands, Leighann Isaac, Moses Lunham, and Cortnee Goure. Artwork to represent this important partnership created by Cedric Isaac, Bkejwanong Territory.
